The black seems to feel like it’s a nice coat that won’t rush like the factory one! Great product!

It was very easy to install even on my 91 Chevy Lumina Z34. The outlet side took a little screwing and pressure for it to finally catch the threads, but otherwise no problems. And you know K&N is legit. Probably would have been happy with any old regular filter, but figured I would take care of my old girl. Don’t forget to change your filters! Maybe put these off until it’s way too overdue.

Changed out the fuel filter on my 2000 GMC Sierra SLE with a 5.3L and my wife’s 1999 GMC Yukon with a 5.7L. This filter was an easy fit. Just remember, when changing them out, DO NOT OPEN your gas tank cap. Do the normal find your fuel relay switch and disconnect and turn the key to release pressure. I’ve seen a video of someone suggesting to open your gas cap and all that does is allow the line to draw air into the tank pushing your gas through the line. You’ll have a steady constant stream doing that. Trust me, I tried it and it was a nightmare.
Also with both the yukon and the sierra, take a floor jack and lift the side up, then place a jack stand at the front frame rail location for lifting the truck up, release the floor jack onto the stand. You’ll have room for a quick change, even with rust on the fuel line nut. I used a 5/8 brake wrench for the fuel line nut and a 3/4 wrench for the fuel filter. General mileage is every 20,000 to 30,000 for a fuel filter.

My old fuel filter was really rusted on but once I got it off and put this on everything was fine.
